Helpful to include: your phone model, iOS or Android version, the app version (Settings, at the bottom) and what you expected to happen.
Apps are no longer resting on my iPhone
iOS sometimes revokes Screen Time access, for example after an update, a restore, or if Screen Time was turned off.
- Open Settings › Screen Time and make sure Screen Time is on.
- Open Mizan. If it asks for Screen Time access again, tap Allow and confirm with Face ID or your passcode.
- In Mizan, check your resting apps in Settings. If the list is empty, pick your apps again.
- Restart the phone if apps still open freely.
Android: Mizan stops working after a while
Some Android phones close background apps aggressively. Mizan needs its accessibility service to stay on.
- All phones: Settings › Accessibility › Installed apps › Mizan: on. Then Settings › Apps › Mizan › Battery: Unrestricted.
- Xiaomi, Redmi, POCO: Settings › Apps › Manage apps › Mizan: turn on Autostart, and set Battery saver to No restrictions. In the recent apps screen, long-press Mizan and tap the lock icon.
- Samsung: Settings › Battery › Background usage limits: remove Mizan from “Sleeping apps” and “Deep sleeping apps”, and add it to Never sleeping apps.
- Other brands: the site dontkillmyapp.com has steps for most manufacturers.
Restoring Premium on a new phone
Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple ID or Google account you bought Premium with. Open Mizan, go to Settings › Upgrade to Premium and tap Restore purchases. Premium is tied to your store account, not to an email, because Mizan has no account.
Cancelling a subscription
On iPhone: Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions › Mizan. On Android: Google Play › profile › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions › Mizan. Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal or the end of a trial.
Prayer times look wrong
In Mizan, open the Salah settings and check your location or city and the calculation method. Different regions follow different methods; choose the one your local mosque uses.
Recitation won’t play
Recitations stream over the internet. Check your connection, then try another reciter. Downloaded surahs (Premium) play offline. If one ayah fails repeatedly, write to us with the surah, ayah and reciter.
Deleting your data
Open Settings › Delete my data in Mizan. This erases everything Mizan has stored on your phone: balance, streaks, counts, settings and downloads. We hold no copy of it, so there is nothing else to delete. An active subscription is not cancelled by this; cancel it in your store settings. See the privacy policy for details.
